Originally published at Better Living Through Science Fiction. Please leave any comments there.

Top Ten Christmas TV VillainsYesbutnobutyes.com has a list of the top ten retro Christmas villains on TV. Topping the list at number one is the abominable snow monster, Bumble from Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Hmm, is it me, or does Bumble bear a striking resemblance to the stuffed Mugato I have sitting on my desk.

They just don’t mean authors features in Weird Tales, but the creators of the weirdest works in fiction, poetry, movies, comics, and music since 1923. They’re taking suggestions through December 31st, 2007. Five randomly drawn participants in January will win a copy of Weird Tales: The Twenty-First Century, Vol. 1.

Top Ten List of Sci-Fi Heroes

Originally published at Better Living Through Science Fiction. Please leave any comments there.

Top Ten List of Sci-Fi HeroesA few issues ago, SciFiNow did their Top Ten sci-fi TV Heroes list which you can now find on their website. It’s a pretty cool list. I’d have to agree with most of the people on there, including James T. Kirk taking the top spot, but Jean-Luc Picard only at number 7? Really? Kirk obviously saved the universe a lot, that’s why he’s at number one. But surely so did Picard. At least have them share the top spot! I mean, seriously, putting him behind Dr. Sam Beckett? Sure Sam Beckett changed a lot of lives, but Picard saved the universe! Many times! And as much as I love Malcolm Reynolds (he’s probably my personal favorite from the list), I’m sure Mal would agree that he probably shouldn’t be number 2 on a top ten list of heroes. I mean, Adama is busy trying to save the last of the human race!
